It is a pleasure to invite you to participate in the 6th practical course in biofilm procedures, which will be held in October 2019 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The biofilm course introduces the participants to various topics of biofilms and its huge impact on chronic infections. Through lectures and a full day of hands-on experiments, the participants will gain a vast understanding of biofilms and useable knowledge of how and when to implement biofilms into their research- or product portfolio. In addition we will introduce and discuss the differences in regulatory requirements and functional requirements of antimicrobial products.
The course will introduce several realistic in vitro and in vivo biofilm models for antimicrobial testing and offers possibility for the participants to bring their own dressing etc. to test in vitro (data will not be shared with other participants or published).
How to understand and acknowledge the limitations of various in vitro and in vivo models and how to extrapolate the results to the clinic and patients will be discussed.
We hope you will join us for the 6th course in biofilm and look forward to welcoming you to Copenhagen.
Best regards, On behalf of the local organisers
